LUNG FORCE Advocacy Day 2016

During the first ever LUNG FORCE Advocacy Day on March 16, lung cancer advocates nationwide joined together to urge senators and representatives in Washington to support robust, sustained federal funding increases for lung cancer research.

Recent advances in combatting lung cancer, including new drugs and a boost in funding for cancer research, propelled our momentum for Advocacy Day.

LUNG FORCE Heroes on Capitol Hill

LUNG FORCE Heroes from every state took to Capitol Hill to share how lung cancer has affected their lives and to press their senators and representatives for investment in research that will result in additional early detection methods and better treatments.

Social Media Thunderclap

While LUNG FORCE Heroes are representing in Washington, we rallied our social media networks to amplify our message to Congress. The LUNG FORCE Advocacy Day Thunderclap reached 372,416 people, who we encouraged to send a letter to Congress asking for increased funding for lung cancer research.

Send a Letter to Congress

On Advocacy Day, we asked the nation to take action by sending letters to their senators and representatives in Washington to tell them that we need federal funding increases for lung cancer research. But there’s still time to send your letters! We've drafted a letter to Congress that outlines why we need more research funding at the NIH. Fill out your info, personalize the letter (if you want) and we'll send it for you!

Thank you to our LUNG FORCE Advocacy Day sponsors for your generous support!
